I’ve had my ticket to HubSpot’s Inbound ’14 since November, THAT is how excited I am to be back in Boston. The day started with a quick (and friendly!) 38-minute JetBlue flight from JFK. Later, while waiting for the venue shuttle HubSpot arranged, I met and had a lovely conversation with Mary Planding of Inbound Marketing Squad, who I’ve been familiar with through the HubSpot Partners LinkedIn group.
After a quick check-in at BCEC, I headed upstairs for the partner reception and bumped into Joey Giangola, an insurance pro from Ohio who I only know from Google+, but just happened to have had a Twitter exchange with an hour earlier. Totally random, but nice to finally shake hands and put a human face to the avatar!
The partner presentation by Patrick Shea and Peter Caputa was great (we played HubPartner Wheel of Fortune!), and some new changes to the tiers program were announced that I expect will help level the playing field for small players like me.
Soon after the partner keynote, I snagged a front row seat to Guy Kawasaki’s welcome keynote. My online opinion of Guy has always been “that has to be the happiest man on the internet,” and he is just like that in real life. His smile is contagious. And Canva rocks — check it out.
Here are Guy’s slides: 10 lessons he learned working for Steve Jobs. Enjoy, and good night. Big day tomorrow!
