Better Meeting Reporting Is Coming: a Good Reminder to Audit Your CRM Setup

HubSpot is making an important change to how recorded meetings are logged, and while it may sound like a small backend update, I think it matters a lot for reporting, automation, and general CRM cleanliness.

Starting in August 2026, HubSpot will simplify how recorded meetings are tracked when they come from Notetaker, Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams. Today, those recorded meetings can create both a Call record and a Meeting record in HubSpot. After this update, they will only create a Meeting record.

Call records are not going away. Calls will still exist for actual phone activity. But recorded meetings will no longer create duplicate Call records.

As a HubSpot consultant and member of the HubSpot Partner Program, I see this as a smart move toward cleaner CRM data. It also means HubSpot admins and revenue teams need to take a closer look at any workflows, reports, or processes that currently rely on Call records for meeting activity.

What Is the HubSpot Agent CLI and Why Does It Matter?

HubSpot Agent CLI is a new way for businesses to connect AI agents with HubSpot data, context, and actions from command-line environments. It is part of a broader shift toward agent-based work, where AI tools do more than answer questions. They can analyze information, identify issues, surface recommendations, and help complete routine work across a company’s systems.

The idea behind HubSpot Agent CLI is that AI agents should be able to work wherever teams already operate. Some people may interact with AI inside ChatGPT, Claude, or other conversational tools. Others may use more technical environments to build workflows, run analyses, or create automations. HubSpot Agent CLI is designed for those command-line and development-style environments, giving teams another way to bring HubSpot intelligence into their daily operations.

How Can HubSpot’s Notetaker with Smart Deal Progression Help Sales Teams Move Deals Forward?

Sales conversations are where so much of the real work happens.

A prospect shares a concern that never makes it into the CRM. A buyer explains their timeline, but the deal record is not updated. A rep promises to send a follow-up, then gets pulled into the next call. A manager reviews the pipeline later and sees deals that look active, but the latest conversation details are missing.

None of this usually happens because a sales team is careless. It happens because the work after a call takes time.

Reps have to review notes, update properties, create tasks, write follow-up emails, and make sure the deal record reflects what actually happened. When call volume is high, that administrative work can easily fall behind.

HubSpot’s Notetaker with Smart Deal Progression is designed to reduce that gap between conversation and CRM action.

At a high level, this update helps teams capture, summarize, and act on live conversations across calls and meetings. Using transcripts and deal context, HubSpot can help identify next steps, suggest CRM updates, draft follow-up emails, and prepare reps for future conversations.

The value is not just better notes. It’s better follow-through!

What Does HubSpot’s Autocapture Website Clicks Update Mean for Your CRM?

Most businesses spend a lot of time thinking about website traffic. They look at page views, form submissions, conversion rates, and maybe a few key landing page metrics.

But there is a layer of website behavior that often gets overlooked: the smaller clicks that happen before someone converts.

A visitor clicks a pricing link. Someone opens a menu item three times. A prospect clicks a “contact sales” button but does not submit the form. A customer visits the support section and clicks through several help-related links. A high-intent lead clicks a product CTA, leaves the site, and comes back later through a different channel.

Those moments can tell you a lot.

The challenge has always been that tracking those interactions usually requires planning ahead. You had to know what you wanted to measure, set up events, involve a developer in some cases, and hope you did not forget anything important. If you realized later that a particular button or link mattered, you were out of luck unless you had already been tracking it.

HubSpot’s Autocapture Website Clicks update changes all that!
