HubSpot for Construction and Remodeling

With more people staying at home over the last few years, the demand for better accommodations and a higher quality of living spaces will surely continue. What’s your construction or remodeling company’s sales and game plan to keep up?

You know the old saying, “the early bird gets the worm?” It’s true with your construction leads as well.

With increased demand, more and more construction and remodeling contractors are falling behind—or never had a plan to process the demand in the first place (namely, the leads they are receiving).

Construction professionals are certainly feeling the squeeze — which leads to the question: “Is there a better way?”

This is where HubSpot comes in. Read on for two case studies of home builders and remodelers using HubSpot to reach their growth potential.

Construction companies who prioritize improving their communication to prospects and customers will reap the benefits of leveraging technology and automation.

With the constant increase in competition, companies who nurture their leads along the way will stand above when it comes to consumers making a choice on who to hire when they are ready.

Companies Like Yours Winning at Customer Experience:

how construction contractors can provide a great customer experience using HubSpot

The HubSpot CRM platform helps construction companies like yours reduce effort and ramp up results to tailor the conversation to builders.

What makes HubSpot the logical and best choice for construction, in particular?  As vast as the HubSpot CRM solution set is, it can be hyper-customized for specific industries (including construction and remodeling).

  • Build and nurture prospect relationships
  • Outpace competitors with rich client data
  • Streamline process management
  • Customize efforts to client needs easily
  • Manage customer relationships effectively
  • Improve profit margins with efficiencies

With seamless integration across marketing, sales, customer service, and more, HubSpot’s all-on-one platform gives you visibility and insights into the entire customer journey.

What’s the result? Improved customer experiences and less work for your team. How do you get there? By creating efficiencies every step along the way in your sales, marketing, and service processes.

HubSpot integrates with many widely used and popular technologies, including Outlook, Google Calendar, Zoom, Facebook Ads, Salesforce, Vimeo, …and over 400 other applications.

There’s so much you can do with HubSpot. To highlight a few:

  • Capture and process your incoming leads with HubSpot’s CRM
  • Track traffic and lead source data with intuitive reporting
  • Automate internal and external communications as you move a prospect from initial consultation to project acceptance
  • Cut down on unnecessary manual processes and leverage the power of technology to do the heavy lifting for you

A cobbled tech stack can lead to missed opportunities, a painful buying process, and disjointed customer experiences. When data is siloed across teams, it’s harder to align. HubSpot offers a single source of truth for your customer’s data, with an intuitive UX and unified codebase.

A CRM that is easy to align and easy to adapt for you…means a seamless buying process and remarkable experiences for your customers.

Below are two real customer success stories, highlighting their specific pain points, what they needed in a solution, and how HubSpot delivered.

Local Remodeling Contractor (Eastern Pennsylvania)

In 2015, a family-owned and operated home renovation company needed help modernizing their tracking methods and taking their marketing to the next level. They were using Excel to manage leads and current projects, and had no digital marketing efforts. At the time, the 4-person shop was up to $1.5 million in annual sales.

Looking to increase revenue and the average job size, and stay focused on larger projects to keep their crews busy, they used HubSpot as the foundation for an inbound marketing strategy.

Challenges :

  • All marketing efforts were being handled in-house (limited to direct postcards and a self-made website)
  • Clients were raving about their beautiful results, but new business was only coming in through referrals
  • Crew schedules were filled with smaller projects that took time away from more lucrative renovation projects
  • Their portfolio and featured projects were not representative of their capabilities
  • The outdated website did not convey the superior quality of their design and build projects
  • The owners had no communication channels set up to stay in touch with website visitors or interested clients

HubSpot’s all-in-one solution is a platform where each component is seamlessly connected to the other for streamlined communication and optimum process efficiency.

As you can see above, iIn the first year after implementing some of HubSpot’s automation tools, this home remodeler experienced a 32% increase in overall revenue growth. Job size has continued to increase and visitors that converted to contacts on their website has steadily grown.

Luxury, Custom Home Builder (North Carolina)

A luxury home builder with a solid referral business but a minimal digital presence was using “Structure,” a  builder-specific CRM and project management tool to manage leads and follow up. There was no automation available in the CRM, and all their processes and reporting were done manually.

With HubSpot they were able to grow their business and establish a reliable lead flow through multiple tools that brought organization and unification to their sales team’s processes.

Challenges:

  • The company was well-known for only one of its four offerings
  • A consistent sales process was not used
  • Sales teams struggled to qualify leads, then the sales process took too long once leads were qualified, and it was not guaranteed that these leads would close to contracts
  • No reliable lead source through digital marketing
  • Website lacked conversion opportunities but did not represent the quality they delivered
  • Management and sales teams did not have consistent reporting and handling of data and lead opportunities
  • No sustainable or reliable lead pipeline in the midst of many changes to the housing market
  • Lacked the tools needed to synchronize sales and marketing activities

In 2018, this customer was only able to track one lead as coming through their website traffic. In just two years, website leads per month increased to 55 and the business experienced over $10 million in revenue growth attributed to organic traffic.

We were introduced to HubSpot as a smart solution for the many ways we were coming up short in our business management and marketing. We’ve since adopted these for a more efficient office, with no leads or clients falling between the cracks, and our business growing as a result: lead tracking and communication, sales tracking and forecasting, content organization, and lead nurturing. It has turned our business into a growth machine, with less admin work on our side.

The HubSpot Customer Platform

HubSpot is an AI-powered customer platform that connects your marketing, sales, customer service, content, data, and revenue processes around one shared CRM.

Instead of forcing separate systems and disconnected data to work together, HubSpot gives your teams a shared view of your prospects and customers. Marketing can see what’s happening in sales. Sales can see the marketing activity that led to a conversation. Service teams have the context of the entire customer relationship. And automation can connect processes across all of them.

At the center of the platform is HubSpot Smart CRM, which connects your customer data across HubSpot’s products. HubSpot’s Breeze AI tools are also integrated throughout the platform to help teams automate work, create and analyze content, research prospects and customers, and use CRM data more effectively.

HubSpot’s six core products are Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, Content Hub, Data Hub, and Revenue Hub. Each can be used on its own, but the real power comes from using them together because they share the same CRM and customer data.

Sales Hub

Sales Hub is HubSpot’s AI-powered sales software for building pipeline and closing deals.

Sales teams can manage contacts and companies, build deal pipelines, automate follow-up with sequences and workflows, track sales activity, forecast revenue, score leads, create playbooks, and manage prospecting from one connected workspace.

Because Sales Hub is built on HubSpot Smart CRM, your sales team can also see the marketing, service, and other customer activity surrounding each relationship instead of working from an isolated sales database.

Marketing Hub

Marketing Hub brings your marketing data, campaigns, automation, and lead generation tools together with your CRM.

You can use Marketing Hub to create and automate email campaigns, build forms and landing pages, manage campaigns and social media, segment audiences, score leads, personalize communications, and measure how marketing activity contributes to leads and revenue.

HubSpot is also increasingly incorporating AI into Marketing Hub, including AI-powered lead generation, campaign creation, automation, and tools that help marketers understand how buyers are discovering their brands through both traditional search and AI-generated answers.

Service Hub

Service Hub connects customer service and customer success with the rest of the customer journey.

Teams can manage support through HubSpot’s help desk and ticketing tools, create a knowledge base, collect customer feedback, route requests, track service performance, and manage customer success and retention.

Service Hub also includes AI-powered tools such as Customer Agent, which can answer customer questions and take actions using your business and CRM data. Because service activity lives alongside marketing and sales data, your team has a much more complete picture of each customer relationship.

Content Hub

Content Hub replaced what was previously known as CMS Hub and expands HubSpot’s website tools into a broader AI-powered content marketing platform.

In addition to building and managing websites, landing pages, and blogs, Content Hub includes tools for content creation, personalization, repurposing, podcasts, video, reporting, and content management.

HubSpot is also bringing answer engine optimization into Content Hub with HubSpot AEO, which helps businesses understand how their brands appear when buyers ask questions in AI tools and identify opportunities to improve that visibility.

Data Hub

Data Hub is the evolution of what was previously Operations Hub. It’s designed to help businesses connect, clean, organize, and activate data across HubSpot and the rest of their technology stack.

Data Hub includes data syncing, data quality tools, automation, reporting, and tools for combining first- and third-party data. It can also help connect HubSpot with external data sources and maintain cleaner, more consistent CRM data.

This becomes increasingly important as businesses use more AI because the quality of the results you get from AI depends heavily on the quality and completeness of the underlying data.

Revenue Hub

Revenue Hub is HubSpot’s connected system for managing the revenue process, including quoting, contracts, billing, and payments.

Revenue Hub is the evolution of Commerce Hub, expanding HubSpot’s commerce tools beyond payments and billing into a broader quote-to-cash process.

Because this information lives alongside your CRM data, sales, service, and finance processes can stay connected to the customer relationship instead of operating from separate systems.

What about HubSpot’s AI tools?

AI isn’t really a separate Hub. Breeze, HubSpot’s collection of AI tools, is integrated throughout the customer platform.

Depending on the HubSpot products and features you’re using, AI can help with everything from prospecting and customer service to content creation, data analysis, automation, research, and CRM work.

HubSpot is also expanding its AI agent capabilities so businesses can use agents to perform work using the context and data already stored in HubSpot.

Wondering if HubSpot is right for your business?

Choosing the right HubSpot products and figuring out how they should work together depends on your business, your existing technology, and what you’re trying to accomplish.

If you’re considering HubSpot, I can help you determine what you actually need and provide hands-on HubSpot onboarding to configure the platform around your business.
